Information You Submit
Search forms send the name, telephone number, or address entered to the outside provider that supplies the result. Lafayette People Search does not retain a copy of those queries on its own servers. A direct message contains only what its sender chooses to provide and is used to answer that message.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the site and shows which resources are useful. Cookies or comparable technology may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where those functions apply.
How the Information Is Used
The limited data described above supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvement. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to government portals, Contra Costa and California records offices, library collections, and outside search services. Information submitted after following a link is controlled by that destination's policy. The same is true for sponsored results supplied by an outside company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process logs for the site's operation. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic data already described. Visitor information may also be disclosed in response to valid legal process; it is not otherwise shared by us.
Security and Retention
An encrypted connection serves the site, and logs are kept only as long as operational needs require. Since there are no user accounts, Lafayette People Search does not hold visitor passwords or account profiles.
Users Under 18
This site is not directed at children and is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your California Privacy Rights
California's Consumer Privacy Act and Privacy Rights Act, including Civil Code sections 1798.105 and 1798.120, provide qualifying rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of certain sale or sharing of personal information. The statutory exceptions still apply. Because this site keeps little visitor data, a request generally means checking the contact mailbox and available logs. Use the Contact page to submit one. Records held by Lafayette, Contra Costa County, California, or a court remain under that custodian's control, so requests concerning those records must go to the office that holds them.
Updates to This Policy
A revised policy will be posted here when practices change. Using the site after publication of an update signifies acceptance of the revised terms.
